DD unable to sleep unless swaddled but is getting too strong for it..

That's it really! She is 10 weeks on Wednesday, and has been swaddled to sleep when at home since day one really. Se goes to sleep no problem in her car seat or pram if we're out and about, but in her crib/cot she won't sleep any other way.

I want to start putting her up to bed in the evenings to have some 'me' time but because she won't sleep any other way - I don't feel comfortable leaving her upstairs, swaddled, when I know she can break out of it no matter how tightly it is done. I have often walked past her crib and found her arms free and the sheet draped over her face

She has terrible arm control in her sleep. I got her a grobag thinking I would be comfortable leaving her upstairs in that as she can't slide down or get anything over her face - but she constantly wakes herself up by hitting herself in the face/rubbing her eyes/knocking her dummy out.

I know she can't be swaddled forever, she is already showing signs of being frustrated with being so tightly packed but she just can't sleep and stay still any other way. Help!

this is a cozy cocoon, it may help?

We used a peke moe sleep sack to transition from swaddle to sleeping bag and it worked a treat. They are fairly pricey, but proved an invaluable half-way house for our little rascal! Can't do links, but if you google peke moe then you will find the website.

I understand your frustration. DS had to be swaddled until he was 4 months as he wouldn't sleep any other way! In the end we purchased a miracle blanket - it cost around £15 pounds - and it worked a treat. It was the only thing he was unable to break free from and once wrapped up he would sleep all night. Works a bit like a straight jacket but I swear it did the trick!

What are you swaddling her in?
I swaddled mine for months and none of them could break free. In fact, when they got too big for a small sheet, I used a cot sheet.
I don't think mine were particularly weak babies. I did do a tight swaddle though
