Usually try to have ds in bed for 7 p.m, reading to him for maybe 20 mins. Weekends can be later, more flexible.

RenderedSpeechless · 01/10/2009 11:24

Normally between 7.30-8 on school days and 9pm at weekends. However as x-factor is her 'most favourite programme ever' (her words, not mine) she's allowed ro watch it and sleep immediately after.

x-factor is instead of bedtime story at the moment.

7.30 regardless, unless something special is happening, then more flexible obv.

doggiesayswoof · 01/10/2009 11:28

In bed just before 7, then stories finished by about 7.15

DD sometimes stays up a little later at weekends but she's usually too tired - especially since DS wakes everybody up at about 6.15 most mornings...

not planning to change things any time soon, she needs her 11 hours atm.

busybutterfly · 01/10/2009 13:08

7pm. On the dot! Need my time...

Lizzylou · 01/10/2009 13:09

7pm, normally in bed by 6.45pm then we read.
Same at weekends, sometimes a bit later.

BonsoirAnna · 01/10/2009 13:09

Around 10 pm is a good time. Sometimes a bit later.

I wake her at 8 am in theory, but she often gets up earlier of her own accord.

dd has lights out at 7.40pm most nights but she stays up till 8pm (or just after) when dh plays football after work on a Friday - they have their 'Friday chat'. My lo's refuse to lie in at the weekend so we dont deviate much from their usual bedtimes.

francagoestohollywood · 01/10/2009 13:17

My 5 and 7 yr old dc get ready for bed at around 8.30 nowadays. Usually asleep by 9. I wake them up at around 7.40.
They go to bed at around 9/9.30 over the weekend.

alittlebitshy · 01/10/2009 13:20

dd is 6 but that's close enough.... .

on a weeknight she and ds (14 mo) have a bath at 7. dd has a story read to her, then is allowed to read til 8. on a weekend it is til 8.30- though xfactor on a saturday replaces that atm... (this seems a common theme )

I used to have her lights out at 7, then it moved to 7.30 but she was waking up way too early. She is still a reasonably early riser (with occasional sleepathons to catch up) but this seems to work.

BiancaJackson · 01/10/2009 13:21

7-7.30pm on school nights STRICTLY. Usually closer to 7pm.

On weekends it slides towards 8pm and is later if there is a special occasion/family event.

clop · 01/10/2009 13:29

About 8:20pm, every night. Takes him 10-20 minutes to fall asleep after that.
All summer it was about 9:20pm, I just could not get him to settle down any earlier.

He jumps out of bed and immediately dresses himself 6:30am-7am.

Bath at just after 7, then supper and a bit of telly and in bed by 7.45 or so - weekdays and weekends. She's up by about 6.45, so any later and shes a nightmare! One of her weefriends doesn't seem to go to bed --- will often appear at our door at 9.30 asking if DD coming out to play!

Biglips · 01/10/2009 17:27
