Does anyone have any advice. I give my 3mth DD a feed at 7pm and then a dream feed at 10pm and she goes through until the morning. When do you think I can stop the dream feed? As I wake her up for it I don't know how long she would go until she was hungry. I did this with my now 3 yr old but I can't remember when I stopped the dream feed! Any advice welcome!!

Steady on. She's only tiny!
Is it really so inconveneient to feed her at 10 pm?

I didn't really expect abuse. Thanks moondog.

I am still feeding my son and he is 7 months. I am told that when they are on solids you can stop the dream feed... I don't want to stop as he sleeps so wekk!!!

I mean well!

Thanks hambo! That helps. I just couldn't remember. Like you I don't want to stop as she is such a good sleeper but wasn't sure if i should have done or not by now!!

We stopped when DS wasn't interested in it anymore. It was nice as DH always did it, and as he is always home after DS is in bed it was his time with him. But when DS started refusing it and being grumpy at being woken up, it was clearly time to stop!

I think also at the same time he became less interested in his first feed of the day, so dropping the dreamfeed sorted that out as well.

Just stopped at 14 weeks when it was a supreme effort for ds to be woken up...

I stopped at 7 months when DS was on 3 meals a day and only taking 3/4oz at 10pm and not interested in his morning feed.

I think 3 months is quite young but there are some babies that can go 12 hours at that age, you could try not doing it one night and see what happens. IIRC when we tried it DS woke up at 1am and 5am so we started it again the next night!!

We only stopped it with DS1 when he was on three meals a day and tut, tut I did this when he was around five months old. This time round I've been told by my HV that not a teaspoon of solids must pass DS2's lips until he's six months old so I guess it's a while longer for the dream feed.

However as both DH and myself were struggling to stay awake until 10.30pm we've moved it forward to 9.30pm and its made no difference to the time ds2 wakes in the morning. So perhaps you could try this?
