Frequent night waking...I'm shattered!

My DD is 12 weeks and I am concerned that her feeding/sleeping pattern is very different to other babies her age. In fact she still wakes as often as she did as a newborn and it's beginning to get me down. She is BF. Her night pattern is kind of : bed 8-9pm, first sleep 3 1/2 to 4 hours which is the best we get. Then after that she will wake at least every two and a half hours, sometimes it might be only an hour. Usually by the third or fourth wake up I will bring her into our bed. The thing is, she doesn't seem to feed much on each occasion although I encourage her in the hope of extending the time between feeds. It's almost like she wakes for some other reason than because she is hungry and last night, after third wake up, she wouldn't go back to sleep until I put her in my bed. I really don't want to give her formula as some people have suggested. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I the only one who is still feeding a 3 mnth old 4 times a night? Help!!!
By the way, she isn't sleeping too much during the day. Usually a 2 hour nap in the morning and I struggle to get her down for an hour in the afternoon.

Awww jccf, you poor thing. How did the nutramigen thing go?
My LO is pretty much the same as she was but to be honest, just reading through this thread and seeing that others have the same issues has made me feel stronger about coping with it. I managed a nap in the late afternoon yesterday...on my bed with DD which was lovely although short.Co-sleeping can be a good thing or a bad thing for us depending on DD's mood. Some nights it's like sleeping with a wiggly worm and I wake exhausted. Occasionally she sleeps pretty solidly and I manage to get some zzs myself in between feeding. Yesterday morning for some bizarre reason, after a difficult night she decided that 4am was getting up time!!!! Each night can be different. I don't want to stress over it too much because I don't want to spoil the enjoyable stuff, but it's hard to keep that resolve at 2 in the morning sometimes isn't it?

Missy8c, we tried the nutramigen and it didn't make him wake any less than before, but he didn't have as much gas. We had a lot of crying though In the afternoon he was being refluxy, which is almost worse than gas so we're back on the good stuff No supply issues yet, hopefully it'll stay that way and I didn't mess up my supply too much while he was on bottles.

What I did notice while he was on bottles was that he wasn't eating very much each time, so prob that is why he's waking at night. He's not eating enough during the day. It's so hard to tell how much they're eating when they're breastfed.

Anyway, last night was MUCH better than the last few nights - he went down at 8 and woke for a feed at 1130, 3 and 6 - and the main difference was that he actually went back to sleep each time and would sleep in his cot with no crying And it's now 9am and he's still asleep - unheard of I usually co-sleep after the first feed, but I was so exhausted last night I really needed some sleep. Don't ask me where the gas was, because he didn't have any til after 6am. Hopefully it's not going to be back tonight... I can deal with this Maybe he'll actually be in good form today. Naps in the last few days have been awful too - maybe today will be different?

I really think he did have a growth spurt this week, because in the last couple of days he's started rolling over, finding his hands and holding onto things, plus he's heavier.

I'm glad you're feeling better about not being the only one. It helps me too. Yes, I'd love him to sleep till 4, 5 or even 6, but I can deal with nights like last night if he just sleeps inbetween feeds!
