Can anyone recommend a north London based night nanny or someone expert in non-sleepiong babies who can help a friend who is close to breaking point with a new baby who sleeps only 40 minutes at a time? I had someone who helped me with DS2 but I have lost her details, any immediate help gratefully received. Thank you

How old is her baby?

found this website www.sleepnannies.co.uk

You may want to start a thread in the childcare section. I'm not in London but there is a few nannies around who may be able to help.

I think she'd be better off with some friends going around and giving her some help with the baby so she can catch up on her sleep. There's nothing unusual about a newborn going through a growth spurt sleeping very short intervals and eating All. The. Time.

Thanks everyone - I am going to go round and mind the baby for a few hours and I have found a nanny who can help her at night.

We used an agency in Stanmore called Sleeping Babies. They have a website you can have a look at. From memory, 1 night cost approx £120. They were very good and helped us out during the first few weeks.
