gro bag question

I've been given a load of gro-bags for my DS who is 7 weeks old but as they are second hand I don't have the instructions...
They are all 2.5 tog; are they too warm for this weather?
The temp. in our room reads 21 degrees tonight. am not sure whether to use them or just stick with 1 blanket and 1 sheet.
have just moved DS from the moses basket into the big cot as well so am a bit worried about it all, any help from Mnetters greatly appriciated!

yes they are too warm for tonight
if you google grobag there is a temp guide of what to wear on their website

if you can't find it I will find a link for you but need to rush off now

16-20 degrees I believe for the 2.5 grobag. (with a babygrow on)

You could try the grobag with just a longsleeved top?

If you go on to the Grobag website (think it's called Bump to 3 or something similar now) they have a little chart of tog rating and temp which tells you what the baby needs to be wearing underneath the bag.

Check the gro-bag website here they've got tables outlining what togs to use and what to dress the baby in to sleep.

My DS2 (12months) gone to bed in vest, PJs and a 1.0 tog bag this evening.

it also depends on teh baby

at 20 degrees my son is sweating buckets in a 2.5 tog and a long sleeved vest - we have to opt him in 1 tog and even leave that open a bit

so use the grobag chart as a guide but also see how your baby feels - by feeling the back of their neck or tummy, rather than their hands (its normal for these to be cold). you will get used to what is right for your baby. its better to be slightly colder than warmer IMO - they will wake up if they are cold, whereas too hot can be dangerous.

great things though grobags!
