Is 2 too young to go in the bottom bunk?

My ds2 will be 2 in july. Desperate to get him into his brothers room, which is small. The only solution is to get bunk beds - but worried he might be too young for the bottom bed. How young have your dcs gone into a bottom bunk? Thanks!

My ds2 went straight into a botom bunk. Its no different to any other single bed

How would you stop them going on the top bunk in the night or morning though? OR do you teach them how not to fall? OR how to land well?

My DS went on the bottom bunk at two and has been fine. He never climbs onto the top bunk because a) he can't get down and doesn't like it and b) his sister would kill him for going on her bed. He knows the bottom bunk is like his 'bedroom' and the top bunk is hers.

Very strange, I was going to post a thread asking this same question!

The only thing I am worried about is DD2 trying to climb up to DD1 but DD1 will be nearly 7 by the time I get them bunk beds so I assume she will be quite sensible.

It is hard work trying to sort bedroom arrangements out when you have more children than bedrooms!

He'll be fine. You could remove the bottom rung of the ladder to make it harder for him to climb up.
