Do you find your DC on his/her stomach ?

My DS is 7 months old this week. Although we put him to sleep on his back and he has no problem getting to sleep like that, we have found him sleeping on his stomach for the past week or so when we go to check on him. This is during naps and nighttime sleep. Can this be discouraged in any way?

When he wakes up on his front he pushes up on straight arms and is really proud of himself. He wears a gro-bag so can't get tangled in anything. Should we bother flipping him back?

I'd leave him tbh. I think my dd did the same at that age more or less and I prob worried as well. I suppose they have to master it and learn.
But I'm no expert.

I think the advice is that if they keep flipping themselves over it is OK to leave them. My DD did this and it took me AGES to get used to it. Now she is 1 though I am happy that she would be able to move herself if she needed to. I found it helped to sort of roll her slightly on to her side as she preferred this to flat on her back and she didn't tend to roll all the way over. She also fell asleep much quicker - must have been really comfy for her.

from 6 months it is ok to let them find their own sleep position so dont bother turning your lo back if you find him on his tummy.

Thanks everyone, it is true that they look so much more content when they find a new sleeping position, don't they?
