He never normally sleeps in the day but have been making concerted effort to make him have regular naps in moses basket.

Now not sure if I should leave him or let him continue sleeping...

Any advice??

i'd let him stay asleep!

llareggub · 18/04/2009 16:11

Definitely let him sleep. My DS always slept better the more he slept, if you see what I mean. Why aren't you asleep too?

MayorNaze · 18/04/2009 16:11

NO! let him sleep

onadietcokebreak · 18/04/2009 16:15

Let him sleep. i found the more my baby slept in the day eg morning and afternoon the better he was at night.

princessmel · 18/04/2009 16:20

NO!!! If you wake him now he has a long time to stay awake till bedtime. He is tiny.

My 2 couldn;t stay awake for more than an hour and a half , 2 hours at that age

newmomma · 18/04/2009 16:54

thanks girls.

he slep for 2 hours 50 mins and has just woken up in a wonderful mood :-)

just hope he still sleeps later tonight...

any of you exclusively bf? i've got problems going thru the night if anyone can help. he wants to suck on me all night otherwise just grizzles. which in turn means he's sick all night as he wants to suck on me and is getting too full of milk. not getting much sleep in the night to say the least. would have gone back to bed this arvo if i thought for a second he's sleep as long as he did...

hoping that better daytime naps will mean he's more used to sleeping in his basket at night. plus he's hopeless at going back down in his basket in the night - he just cries?? any (more) advice?

xxx

Sounds like the classic time for a growth spurt to be honest. It will pass....

ahh he just likes being with you. have you tried co-sleeping? it worked for us when ds2 wanted to feed pretty much constantly at night.

newmomma · 18/04/2009 18:10

i am co-sleeping; thats why he's feeding constantly as he finds the breast sometimes without me even waking...

but then he's sick with having had more milk than he should... and sure wakes me up.

but now he can't go to sleep, day or night, without a quick suck first!

Sounds just like DS was at that age.
