Snoring!!! Any cures that have really worked for you?

DH is a big snorer...in fact he has slept in the spare room for months, which improved our relationship no end, but now DD is here I really would like some company in bed again

We have tried nasal strips, a pinky ring, throat spray...all with no or little effect.

He's that loud that he wakes me from the other room!!!

Any experience with this or remedies that have worked for you? Only been snoring for about 5 years, doesn't drink, isn't over-weight but does smoke.

Help.....

I use earplugs which has been the only thing to work. DS also joined the gym and got his deviated septum operated on which has helped a little. Also have a look here

I normally resort to punching and kicking

Dawnus · 14/04/2009 22:13

Can't use earplugs cos DH such a deep sleeper he wouldn't hear the DC if they needed us (and DD only 7 weeks old)
Kicking and punching was fine for a few years but then we just got pissed off and resentful with eachother...hence the spare room!!!

The usual reason is being overweight. Certainly true in my dh's case. In fact we've decided that there's a tipping point with his weight - as soon as he reaches a certain weight he starts snoring.

Your dh should go to the doctor, he might have sleep apnoea or something else that can actually be treated.

I could still hear the kids before ds even with the earplugs in - must be a higher pitch or something. I now only sleep with one in and lie on the side that is 'empty'

Docs just said that it's in his nose (bloody obvious diagnosis i thought) and didn't have anything to offer in the way of treatment or advice!

You'd think there would be some really effective over counter cure by now...there must be thousands of sleeping partners suffering it's effects.

An elbow in the ribs works temporarily
