  1. how do you know when needs to lose day nap

starting to moan and protest before nap but naps one hour so i think well he needs it..naps after lunch usually one hour to someitmes 2 1/2 but more usually 1 15 mins

should i stop nap and see if this also improves night sleep to more than 10 hours?

  1. waking up at 4:30 screaming now - second molars?

  2. eveyrtume wakes up he cries...whether nap or sleep - never happy or calm or plays...anyone else have this?????

Hi bumbly,
The only advice I can give is do what feels right to you coz you know your lil one best. I stressed so much about my DS sleeping habits and they only sorted themselves out when I decided to let go and work through them how I felt was right for us (i.e. I threw out every book!). I wish you luck because it can seem really frustrating at the time.
P.s. my DS 3 and still has 1 1/2 hr naps every day.

20 months is very young to drop a sleep during the day all together

like mpm, DD2 is 3.7 and still sometimes has an afternoon nap...although I prefer her not to.

DS is 19mo and he has anywhere from 30 minutes to 1hr 30mins sleep during the day

as for waking up in a good mood...he never has and neither did DD2 but DD1 always used to wake up happy...big smiles as soon as you walked into the room

I would suggest trying to limit his sleep to an hour just after lunch...see if that helps with at night time and the early mornings.

on 3)- my dd ALWAYS woke up wailing or howling... until about 30 months or so... sorry- some of them are just like that.

Sometimes after napping she would wake screaming, completely inconsolable for 10-15 minutes, like a night terror but during the day.

It does end eventually.
