Sleep patterns of pre-schoolers who were GF babies

I wonder how the sleeping patterns of children who were GF babies compare with those of non-GF babies.

I wasn't a strict GF-mum, but used her timings as closely as was comfortable for us.

Ds, 4.5, and dd, 2.3, go to bed at about 7.30, and get up 6.45-7.15. Generally they wait in bed perfectly contentedly until we come to get them up, tho dd will sometimes call for us if we lie-in too long or she has a pooey nappy.

Dd still naps about 1.30-3.30 every afternoon, and ds 3-4 times a week about 2-3.30.

They tend to have lunch about 12.30 and supper about 5.30, tho we're fairly flexible about them.

So still fairly GF.

dd1 was GF - dd2 wasn't really as I needed a life!!

Both sleep 7/7/30-7/7.30.

neither have a day nap but they do veg in front of a video after lunch normally.

Ds is now 2.7 and was a strict GF routine baby. He now sleeps from 7pm till 9pm - Gina probably wouldn't approve . He's just given up his daytime naps in the last month, but used to sleep for a couple of hours after lunch at 12:30. Tea is still between 5 and 6pm.

Like your wee ones PC, ds waits in his bed singing or playing until I come and get him - I have an easy life

I mean 7pm til 9 AM!!!

Till 9am? You certainly do!

Well DD (just turned 3) is a non-GF baby. She tends to sleep from 7:30-8pm till 7:30am (average) at night and rarely naps during the day. However she does occasionally wake in the night, but probably less than once a fortnight now.

DS ... GF baby ... from the moment he went into a bed at 2 years old he has been the most shocking sleeper. As a baby GF helped but he still fought sleep and it was a daily struggle for 2 whole years. I just gave up when he was 2.
He is 5 and is still terrible.
DD ... non GF baby ... 14 months and dream baby in terms of sleep ....
No, I wouldn't actually recommend GF now to anyone ... I think it made things worse in the long run as sticking to those rigid routines has made DS an anxious sleeper ... IMO that is ...

Dd, NOT a GF baby really though I did read the book and find it interesting in places. 2 1/2 now and sleeps 8pm - 7-8am, naps 1-2 hours around 1pm-ish.

Mine all pretty much followed GF as babies (I didn't follow it rigidly but used it as a guide and all 3 seemed to just kind of 'do it' anyway).

DS1 is just 4 - no daytime naps at all, sleeps 7.15ish through to 7.30

DS2 is 2.5 - he goes to morning sessional nursery Thur/Fri and on those days naps just afterwards at 1pm for about an hour (but only cos I wake him up!). On non-nursery days he'll sleep from about 10.30am to 12.30/1pm. At night he sleeps same as ds1 - 7.15ish to 7.30.

Both are waking a little early at the moment but I think it's because it's so light in their bedroom.

DS3 is only 7 months but he naps 9-9.30am, 11amish to 1pm. He may nap again for a short time around 3.30 but then he goes down at night at 7.30 and sleeps right through to 7.30am.

Lucky me!

So far it seems that GF doesn't make much difference in the long run!
