22mo waking 15 times a night

Ds has never been a great sleeper, early waker/disturbed etc.

He has recently started sleeping a bit longer of a morning (6.45 as opposed to 5am) but the past 3 nights he has been really disturbed - not proper crying but really whinging, and unable to settle himself. If dp or I get up and tuck him in/turn him back round then he settles straight away, but is semi awake again in less than an hour. Last night it was 15 times - always after 12..dp and I are worn out.

He's not cold, we've introduced a pillow/soft toy, taken them away, he's not hungry/thirsty but we are rnning out of ideas.

Please help

ear infection or some other pain? have you tried some calpol or neurofen?

Sounds like teeth to me. DS does this when they are in the early stages - way before they pop through the gum, months beforehand - and the whingeing and restlessness rings bells. He'll be due molars soon, I think.

Nothing I have found has helped tbh, except loads of patience

Is he still in a cot? Or a bed

The thing is its more the norm for him to wake rather than sleep through

He is due is back teeth - they seem to have been coming through for ages but the little monster wont let me look..

He's still in his cot, I'm loathed to change him to a bed yet as he wriggles around that much he'd be on the floor more often than not.

Last night was partiulary bad - its just about every hour, although he's not actually awake, just whinging/crying in his sleep. As soon as one of us goes in and moves him a little he goes back off to sleep, although not for long Dp and I are like zombies just now
