Hi I have a 5 month old who is still bed sharing, and i would like to move him into his cot (in our room) so I can move DH back in again.
he has a bed time routine of bath boobie and sleep (he always falls asleep on the breast)but hes usually asleep by 9-10pm.
I want to do it with as little fuss as possible (don't we all) and dont really want to venture down the controlled crying route until he is much older, I've put fleece blankets under his sheet as the matress was a bit cold, he also has a sleeping bag which he goes in, and I've put a cloth which smells of me in the cot. any advice welcome please.

I would probably start the routine about 8:30pm with the bath. Put him into bed about 9pm. Read a story and give him a feed with the aim of him being asleep by 9:30pm. I would feed him until drowsy but put him to bed still awake. Take him off the boob before he falls asleep. That way he will learn to settle himself off to sleep.

Have you tried the orthodontic teat dummies or the really big cherry teat ones. DS would only have those and nothing inbetween. Also DS only liked silicone but my friend's DD only likes latex. The closer to nature ones are meant to be good too.

DS has one of these to make it really comfy in there.
