Now, do you think she might have hurt herself, or do you think she is taking the piss pretending?!

Either she sleeps instantly when she goes to bed, or she wakes in the night for hours, or she wakes up really early. Or, recently, a combination of. Last night she went to sleep at 8:45pm, woke at 6am. Slept in car for 45 mins (grrrr) which power napped her and thus she is not asleep, even after a stomp on the beach.
Yesterday she woke at 5am, the day before, 5am.

I am sure I never said I wanted another one did i? If I say it again, slap me.

ellideb "she should be having a decent nap in the afternoon" ??

I'm not laughing at you, honest. It's the madness setting in.

My dd hasn't napped at all from 14 months, is up 7am-8/9pm every day.

OP, dd occasionally nods off in the car in the afternoon if we have to drive anywhere and it really messes her evening up.

Maybe I need to take up wine...

Pavlov - you do not need to apologise for needing and wanting some time to yourself. You can't look after her if you don't take care of yourself. And we know you love her - that is why you are on here!

If you were a rubbish mum, you would either be yelling at her or worse..You would certainly not be seeking the advice and support of other mums.

But you know she needs boundaries, and you will pat yourself on the back when she finally accpets that bedtime means just that.

More wine?!

I do have total sympathy for you, it is soooo hard I would have loved to join you in drowning my sorrows last night here I suppose I've got all this to come? Can you reserve me a place and a glass for next time?

pavlovthecat · 12/02/2009 22:04

Oh Elideb [hug] keep this in reserve!

Pavlov - what time did she eventually give up?!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 13/02/2009 07:38

Sorry, I went straight to bed when she went to sleep, have a horrible chesty cold at the moment!

She usually plays which is OK but if she is overtired she does the throwing toys out and whinging thing!!

She is now asleep and am probably going to have to wake her for playgroup, maybe she is a nightowl!!!

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 13/02/2009 21:35

No need to apologise - hope you feel better soon, there are a lot of bugs about. Take care.

pavlovthecat · 15/02/2009 12:00

Sorry, thanks for all your support everyone. She went to sleep eventually. Going to sleep is a bit better last couple nights, but waking at 6am still and woke 3 times last night. Oh well, cant have it all though eh?

On a good note, she let me put her hair in bunches for the first time without pulling them straight out today
