One year old waking!

I have a daughter who has just turned a year. From 7 weeks she has been a great sleeper. It seems now it is pay-back time.... She won't go down until 10 - it used to be 7 and is waking up at 3, wanting to play. Last night she was up from 3-6. She stands up in her cot and waits for one of us to go in. I've tried feeding her and laying her back down afterwards but she just gets furious. Have tried the baby-whisperer approach. Pretty sure she's eating enough. Could it just be a developmental thing? She's desperate to start walking. She naps in the day but not excessively - 1 or 2 hours.
Any advice gratefully received!

What happens when you leave her a little while? Does she ever settle herself back off?

No - i have tried that - she goes ballistic!

btw she used to wake up in the night and settle herself back after 5 minutes - we didn't even need to go in. This was before she could stand up. Now she stands up and can't settle herself back down

When I read the thread title I thought to myself 'bet she's nearly walking'.

Normal normal normal normal.

When they are on the verge of walking, an enormous developmental milestone, they cannot switch off. She can't do it. Her brain is so busy trying to grasp standing to walking that she can't access sleep in the normal way. She just wants to stand and walk.

She'll go back to normal. Promise. It's developmental. Just help her back to sleep however you can and trust that it'll right itself soon.

Thank you! That makes me feel much better!! Fingers crossed she'll be back to her old self soon (but with the added bonus of walking!)
