hello, dd is now 17 months old. she has slept through the night 7-6 from about 6 months, always enjoyed her sleep.

at 8 months we had very early waking which stopped at 12 months and she returned to 7-6 sleeping.

for the past two weeks i've been trapped in sleep hell. She is still bottle fed, and right now it is not something i'm willing to change, she only has one in morning and one at night (usually) but she loves her bottles so much.

recently she will go to sleep without finishing her bottle then wake up at 10ish to finish it (like a dream feed) no big deal to me. However, she then wakes at 2am and will scream for a bottle. ignoring her or trying to calm her is not really an option, she is a very determined little girl.

she will then wake at 5, and is prepared to start the day, but will settle if comes into bed with either me or dh, and will then sleep til 7am - provided of course she has some more milk.

Now, she has all the classic teething symptoms, and is also due a growth spurt (its been months since she last grew, i'd guess about 4 months, and she is eating an awful lot in the daytime)

but (and thankyou if you've got this far) what do i do? dh says leave it for a week and see how it goes as it could just be a phase given her history of relative good sleep - wwyd?

thanks

Is she eating enough in the day? I too have a milk monster DD (16.5 months) and she is not a big food eater. I notice when she has more milk the less food she eats and it starts a vicious cycle of waking.

I would maybe water her milk down a night (she is obviously having plenty in the morning/evening to be able to do this), my friend did this and it worked, her DD gave up waking up for water down milk!

ooh thats a good idea pg, why on earth didn't i think of that?! (tired brain), dd does eat a lot in the day, but not much in the evening, so that is a great idea, I'll try it tonight, thank you!!

Let me know how you get on. I might take a few nights of trying it but it may work!
