THE TWO HOUR RULE - At what point can they start going longer between naps?

DD is 5 months and still needs to nap after two hours of being awake.

Anyone know what age they can start going for longer?

My 9 month old twins are very rarely awake for more than 3 hours before they need a nap.Occasionally if we are out, and there is lots to keep them awake, they will stay awake for longer, but this is rare.

Thanks plj.

My DS2 is 11.5months and still pretty much goes down after 2 hours.

I hope he grows out of it soon as it is limiting (although he's a great sleeper so i am grateful!) as he goes into meltdown when i try and keep him up for something.

It's a term starlight, for the fact that babies tend to tire after about 2 hours.

I knew you had just come on this thread to take the pee.

Blimey, my dd didn't start napping for more than 20-40 minutes until she was 5 months old.

Not a two hour nap mercy, two hours between naps.

Loving the idea of a two hour nap though.

My DT'S are quite consistant throughout the day. Awake for 2-3 hours, asleep for 1-2. It doesn't aseem to make a difference to their sleeping pattern at night, or vice versa.

DS2 is up for 2, down for 2, up for 2 down for 2, then i keep him up till 7 for bedtime regardless (though it's sometimes a struggle and we give up at 6.30ish).

So roughly:
7pm-7.30/8am - sleep
whenever up - breakfast
10-12 - sleep
12ish - lunch
2ish-4ish sleep
5 - tea
7 - bed

but that's only if nothing interferes with his day, like pre-school run, playgroups, etc.

DS1 did not do this. But i couldn't remember when the 2 naps changed to 1. so aiming for about 18mo then.
