I got a normal single duvet but it's huge and drapes all over the floor.

But I'm the kind of person who would rather that than pay out for sets of bedding that will only be used for a year. (ie tight!)

DS has had a pillow for ages (now 2) because of reflux.

I find it cheaper/easier to use a singe duvet, it falls off less too. TBH I regret getting the toddler bed at all. I used a pillow (DS was 2) - cotbed size from mothercare but singles fit I think.

DS has a single duvet in his cotbed (as I am tight too ). I just tuck the end under the matress to stop it completely swamping him. He doesn't have a pillow because I haven't got round to it, and he seems to sleep no probs without it.

when ds moves into his within the next week or so like my dd he will have a regular single duvet - we lay it the other way on so it wraps round the bed iyswim. I got a lower tog rating as opposed to the 13.5 tog so he doesnt sweat away as hes a sweaty boy already under his duvet blanket thingy.

Thanks all

We got an ikea toddler bed that can extend into a single when she's bigger. agree don't want to buy bedding that won't last long - just wasn't sure if she could have a duvet at all yet.

We have a cotbed-sized duvet. One advantage of having the smaller size is that it's a lot easier to launder a smaller duvet if the dc has a leaky nappy or an accident after they're out of nappies. Plus it's easier to put the duvet cover on and off!
