Every other night is turning into a battle with my 6 month DS. He's always been pretty good at the sleep thing. In bed at 6.30 and wakening (or usually us lifting him) for feeding at 10 and 2. Up again at around 6.30.

Recently though he goes down as normal but wakes after just 3/4 of an hour. He's done this before but if I go in and stroke his face he'll nod off again. However, he's wide awake so I try and get him back to sleep again and he can then go for another short burst or will just be wide awake. Last night we had short sleep bursts, crying and upset until 3.30 am. The night before was normal because Boxding day was bad and the same pattern lasted until 12.15 am. The night before was good because I think he was so tired.

He's sleeping during the day. Sometimes 3 x 45 minute naps and other times a couple of hours midday.

Nothing has changed in his routine appart from introducing solids - BLW but he's not eating much. He grazes on milk in the morning and eats a fair bit pm.

Do they change at 6 months? He's usually so tired at 6.30 with rubbing eyes and pulling ears that I am putting him down. SHould I keep him up later/put him down earlier? I am at my wits end. Any thoughts.

Thank you.

He's also now refusing to take his morning nap. He is so tired. He has only had around 4 may be 5 hours last night.

My DS (13 weeks) is doing the same at the moment - I'm putting it down to too much exitement over Christmas, new toys, kisses and cuddles from relatives he doesn't really know etc. I'm hoping it will all settle down soon!
