milestone waking

Just a quick question, DS has been ill/teething and learning to walk all at the same time (he's just past 12 months) and our glorious nights of no disturbances have been missing for a wee while.

He's now waking up about half 11 at night and clapping his hands and pointing at the door, think he wants to walk and play and I've not let him get up, just kept putting him back down and quietly telling him it's sleep time. I can be yo-yoing in and out of his room for up to 2 hours and having been ill myself I'm knackered!

I just wondered if this sounded like stereotypical milestone waking and how long it usually lasts for. Thank you!

Just bumping this because we had another atrocious night last night. I thought we'd got past separation anxiety, but I'm beginning to think that's what the problem is. He just didn't want me to leave his side and consequently my partner and I are coping on 2-4 hours sleep today.

I will be shot for this but I have given Calpol before just to try and reset sleep patterns. Not advising anyone to do it, I'm just saying.
Good luck

Yes, and in my experience it lasts 16.5 mth and counting...

Thanks for the replies. For some unknown reason he decided to sleep through the night again last night so not feeling quite so dead on my feet as I was.

He had his Hib and Men C immunisations yesterday though so maybe they made him extra drowsy....

We'll wait and see.
