i'm not really sure what i am suppose to do. My 3 year old son has never had a set bed time, its just when he starts to yawn we take him to bed. A few of weeks ago i decided enough was enough and he had to have a set bedtime. We started his routine at 8 - fine - he went to sleep fairly quickly but he was getting up at 4.30 in the morning. That week he became really aggresive at nursery - to the point he drew blood on another child. The nursery were really worried about his behaviour. it all seems to have stemed back from the same time i started this bed routine. So i have now gone back to his old routine of when he starts to yawn then put him to bed. Is this right sometimes he is stilla wake at 9.30. Little one is a child who needs very little sleep, but surely he needs to be in bed.
any ideas

i forgot to put, that since i have gone back to the old routine, he has gone back to being his charming little self. The nursery said it was nice to see the old boy back

How much sleep does he get? It doesn't especially matter what time he goes to bed, but a child this young should be getting at least 10 hours a night (more if possible), really.

Little one sleeps for about 8/9hours per night and for an hour a day although the nursery tell me most days he goes out without a nap. I live in spain and have no friends at all, this is my first child, i love him to bits but never wanted children so have absolutely no knowledge of children. At night we have to lay in his bed with him and then he will go straight to sleep, if you leave him too early he wakes and cries his heart and refuses to go back to bed and ends up falling asleep on the sofa with me. it just doesn't seem right to me.

If someone were to tell you that this is perfectly okay, would you be worried then?

I mean how much of a problem really is it to you?
