When your DD cries, go in and pick her up. Dont rock her. When she stops crying put her back down. Even if she starts to cry when she feels you putting her down, still put her down and then pick her back up again.

You keep doing this until she eventually goes to sleep in her cot on her own.

What are you doing to get DD back to sleep at the moment? And how old is she??

I wasnt sure whether it would work, sounded a bit random, but decided to try it for a week. We did this for 2 nights, it was really hard work. It was hell. On the 3rd night it paid off.

DD is 5 1/2 months and waking frequently. At first I thought this was due to a poor milk supply and would BF her, but as I'm sorting the supply issue out I'm not always convinced that she's hungry.

How old was your DC when you tried it?

More likely it's (1) a growth spurt and (2) her gross motor development (sitting up? commando crawling?) which is mucking up her sleep.

My DD was 8.5 months when we did pupd, so a lot older.

I agree with ches, it's prob developmental. All the babies I know started waking again at around this age. A lot happens and they become really aware at this age.
