How old does your baby/child have to be when CC dosnt work anymore?
I do some form of CC when my DD1 wont settle but tonight I nearly lost the plot....
I leave her to cry a few minutes and then I go back to her and try and settle. I usually sing to her to go to sleep and it can take between 10-30 minutes.
I would love to just say goodnight, shut the door and deal with DD2 who is 5 weeks old.
Finding it a bit of a struggle. Anyone have any good tips of what I can do?

My 20 month old has only recently started to go to sleep after 30 mins of rubbing her back. I found the No Cry Sleep Solution amazing, it takes some time but it's a long term solution. With CC, you have to do it again whenever something happens, like teething or illness.

Defo have to "parent" DS 21 mth to sleep. Had a major breakthrough the other night when he went down for his Dad (after my reassurance) for the first time since he started working on his molars in June. While I agree, it would be lovely to say good night and be done with it, it would also be lovely to have him sleep through the night (woke 6 times last night - working on 2 canines now) and for pigs to fly. Can DH/DP not do DD1's bedtime? Or take DD2 and let you have some quality time with DD1?

Maybe if you tried to cut down her daytime sleep, maybe just an hour if possible. I remember when my dd was about 22mnths she never really needed as much sleep during the day as she used to.
Also, if you are going to try cc, then I think you would have to leave her for more than a few minutes, as long as you know she is fine obviously. If she knows you will be back after crying for three, four or five minutes then that is what she will do, iyswim.
No matter how you get through this time, believe me when I say it does get better with time, so chin up and good luck!
