What does your DC do now that they aren't napping any more but need a quiet time?

DD (3.7) has mainly dropped her naps now, but I try to insist on a quiet time, especially as we're still housebound for at least 2 hours while younger DS naps.

She's pretty good at doing crafts or reading to herself and she is allowed to watch a bit of TV, but I'm wondering what you do in your house?

I see this as a chance for me to rest too, so I try and read a book/study while she does another activity. Is this just too mean of me?

I try and split the time roughly into thirds: 2 thirds are quiet time when I expect her to (mainly) entertain herself, and one third I'll interact more with her (baking, colouring-in, reading aloud)

DS has that as his TV time, I normally also give him a blanket and some milk so sometimes he falls asleep too. Other than that he plays on his own or does a puzzle. Like you, I want some of that time for myself but will play with him for a bit then say 'enough now - time to chill out'.
