Daytime naps for a 15 week old...

Hi,

I don't have any major problem with sleep, as thankfully DS sleeps through from about 10pm to 8am on a fairly regular basis (dunno how that happened - wasn't anything I did )

Daytime naps are a bit trickier though. Atm he wakes up at about 8am, has a monster feed and then will go back to sleep for a good couple of hours or so. And then pretty much won't nap the rest of the day. He'll fall asleep feeding, but he'll wake up as soon as he's put down and SCREAM! At night and for his morning nap I'll wake him slightly after feeding and he'll self-settle perfectly happily . He will sleep if I feed him lying down and stay lying down next to him, which is fine occasionally but makes it v hard to get anything done!

The thing is, I know he's tired - he does all the yawning, eye-rubbing things that tell me he is - he just won't nap!

Any ideas?

Meant to add, he seems to hate being rocked/cuddled to sleep when he's going down for his afternoon nap - goes bonkers if I try

Bump

Thanks for bumping...suppose I wasn't really very clear.

I guess what I'm asking is should I try cutting down his morning nap a little - would he be more likely to nap later? I just feel really sorry for my poor upset boy when he's knackered in the afternoon but won't sleep! Am also v confused as to why I can put him down awake morning and night but not in the afternoon!

Wish I could help! None of mine ever slept pm either, the only thing that got them off was a drive round the block in the car or a walk in the pushchair. Maybe he's overtired in the pm but then that doesn't explain why he goes off Ok at night. Is he otherwise uncomfortable pm - are you bf? - I found I had to be careful what I ate at lunchtime as otherwise it seemed to provoke crying pm.

Not sure cutting out the am nap would help if he seems already tired by the pm, but no harm in trying I guess?
