I can't exactly remember but maybe 4 to 6 months. With us it was when she go too big for the swing. That was the only way I could make sure she had it.

Be prepared for people to come on this thread talking about why you don't need books, routine etc!!

4-6 months was what I had in mind.

Thanks for the warning girls, I'm feeling hard and in the mood for a fight!!

How does Gina suggest you stop a 7-month-old falling asleep in the late afternoon if you're out?

tassisssss · 19/11/2008 21:50

PandL - no idea, sorry!

As I say I don't have the book!

No idea what Gina says, Ds stopped about 11 months, he only occasionally had them from 10, if we had a really busy day. TBH it means he is always ready for bed at 6.45... bonus

C'mon all you "Gina mums", I know you're out there!!

I'm amused that no-one's up for admitting they have a copy by their bedside.

yes she seems to suggest between 4 and 6 months.
some people like routines soom don't. Mine thrived on it. I have a 3 year old who sleeps through from 7 - 7/7.30 sometimes still has a sleep at lunch, was a very happy baby, lots of people comentated on how happy and content he seemed.( not saying that this was all down to routine as he may have been like he is anyway, we'll never know)I also have a 3 month old who is bf and in a loose GF routine and thriving.
I only ever follow GF's routines loosly anyway. Better go , Off to do the 10.30 feed!!!!!

DD is 6mths but she still has one -but I think that is because she doesn't do a 2 hr lunch nap. I think the book suggests around 4-6 mths depending on your baby but if the baby doesn't do a long lunch nap, to give extra naps in the afternoon so that they don't get overtired.
