I need to get up at 6am to study-how can I get out of bed?

Any tips? I naturally wake up at 8am, and then it is a mad rush to get dd off to school, and before that I seem to just roll over and go back to sleep-help! (Dd needs waking in the mornings and doesn't hear alarms-have tried putting one in her room instead, but I need the time when she is asleep, so that doesn't help anyway!) xx

put your alarm volume up a bit and MOVE IT OUT OF REACH!

If you have to get up to go across the room to turn off an alarm then you are less likely to go back to sleep.
If you then get back into bed and go back to sleep you are just a lazy cow and beyond help.

I can get my dd to come and jump on you if you like?

RubySlippers · 19/11/2008 15:34

get an alarm and put it somewhere where you have to get out of bed to turn it off

this means you HAVE to get up and can't just hit the snooze button

I think I am a lazy cow . Although I hid it in the toy box in dd's room last night, and boy did I get up fast this morning, as I didn't want it to wake her. I just feel so dizzy in the mornings I kind of fall back in to bed again-I'm worried I will pass out otherwise (he he!)

How about one of these or one of these

Running around the room looking for the alarm clock might help

Your not gonna like this answer

You need to get up at the same time every morning - no exceptions, no lie-ins, not even for a sneaky extra 5 minutes. Your body will get used to waking at a specific time and you will be able to get out of bed easily.

Well, thats the theory anyway ...i'm certainly not trying it

i also need to get up as early as possible tomorrow to study.. but my ds will make sure of that! You are welcome to borrow him anytime - average wake up time 5-5.30am with depressing predictability!

ps don't go to bed this late - that is a major hindrance

Pawslikepaddington · 20/11/2008 08:08

I must admit, I woke up at six this morning! But went to bed at 9, which buts off study time at the other end-argh! I want one of those run away alarm clocks so badly!
