Should I put 15 month old to bed later so he will sleep later?

My 15 month old only seems to need 9 hours sleep at night. He has been (pretty much) sleeping through for two months now, having dropped night feeds. He goes to bed at 7.30/8 as he's the right amount of tired at this point and I want my dinner in peace. He wakes up though at 5, and for the last couple of weeks a bit earlier. I could kind of cope with 5 but now it's even earlier I'm ready to rethink the whole thing, even if he goes back to 5. I think I was also thinking he'd just somehow learn to sleep for longer but this is it isn't it? He's a 9 hour boy. He has a two hour nap in the day. When he wakes up in the morning he's calling/chatting/awake, not crying. Even so, I've thought it might be hunger but when I tried giving him a weetabix supper a while ago it just started up his whole digestive system again, plus if I have something before bed i wake up starving. Odd. Anyway, does it help to sacrifice an hour of my evening for an extra hour in the morning? I'd like advice before I start as it would take a shift in his pattern in the evening (i.e. he will be tired). Any experience much appreciated!

never works for my lo's - if I put them to bed later they wake up at the same time but are in a foul mood. You could try 'wake to sleep' where you disturb them an hour before the usual wake up time and it helps to shift their sleep cycle. There was a big thread about someone who tried it if you want to have a search.

Thanks, I'll have a look!

Never worked for any of mine. It's worth a try,, but don't expect too much. Actually, having a sleep in teh day (20 mins) used to help- weirdly enough with my first one.
