Should we ditch the baby monitor???

dd is 2.3 and over the last couple of weeks has been waking in the middle of the night or really early in the morning just whinging or grumbling to herself. as we are still using the monitor though we hear everything and go into her and settle her back to sleep or in the mornings we get her up.

She is in a bed and can get out herself but she chooses not to and she just yells for us in the morning or night!

i think we would hear her from our room if she was really crying and we def would if she got out of bed and went to the door (we have a stairgate across her door)

do you think we would be best scrapping the monitor now and just leaving her until she can be bothered to get up herself/gets really upset?

how old were your dc when you got rid?

Definitely ditch it, IMHO . DS had one until he was about 15 months (when we moved house and couldn't find it again) and DD never had one.

We sleep with our door open, their doors closed and always hear them if they need us.

i will only be using it when baby is asleep upstairs in the evening and i'm downstairs.

We ditched it not long after dd moved into her own room at 13wks. I was literally waking every time she moved and I was not sleeping. We keep her door shut and ours open. I still wake up really easily if she makes any noises louder than a whisper.
