Is this behaviour nap dropping??

My son is now 11 months old. Up till this point, he has had a very predictable routine with a morning nap and an afternoon nap. Last week, he seemed to be tired around the time of nap #1, so I put him down and he would only nap for 45 min to 1 hr (usually he'll nap 1.5 hrs). Then for the 2nd nap, he wouldn't sleep at all! I'd keep him in his crib for an hour and he absolutely would not sleep!! So I'm thinking that this must be nap dropping??? But for the last 3 days I haven't given him a morning nap at all, but am putting him for 1 nap earlier in the afternoon. Some mornings he seems so tired though and then I'm second guessing whether or not I'm doing the right thing. I've read a few things but some things say they do nap drop around now, but others say that they are just active and don't want to sleep and that they still need their 2 naps. I'm curious to hear your opinions based on your experiences...
Is this nap dropping behaviour?

Does sound like it might be, DS went through it around the same time. It took quite a while for things to settle down, for ages if he woke up early he would doze off in the buggy in the morning but I'd wake him after 10 mins or he wouldn't sleep properly at lunchtime.

I wonder if I should put him to sleep in the mornings if he seems tired, or just keep him up to get him used to the one nap?

I had to play it by ear with ds at this age and some days he had 1 nap and some days he had 2.

DS1 took a while to drop his morning nap - he would be happy to sleep for ages but I had to cut it down as he just wouldn't make it through to the afternoon.

What worked for us was if I went in and opened the curtains at bang on half an hour - and he would normally wake up 'naturally' and fairly chirpy. I read that babies have a sleep cycle of about 20-30 minutes and that's why I went in at that time. If I was late for any reason, then DS1 would not wake up at curtain opening and I would have to shake him awake and he'd always be grumpy.

Hope that helps?
