ds, 16 months old, was bitten by great aunt's dog last week and awoke at 1.30am the following morning, sobbing his heart out whilst still seemingly asleep. I gently woke him fully, changed him and gave him some juice but an hour later the same thing happened. He settled until his usual 8am waking time.
Then, Tuesday this week, a toddler spitefully scratched his face (father was mortified and explained it was the arrival of his baby sister which was causing his bad behaviour). DS cried heartbreakingly for all of 60 seconds before resuming his wrecking of mothercare but, again, at around 1.30am he woke us sobbing, again it seemed like he was still sleeping.
Last night (well, this morning) at 5.30am the same thing happened with no bad experience in the daytime to my knowledge, but with his arm trapped within his sleeping bag which may have made him dream weird things.
Finally, for the last 3 nights, going to sleep has taken him about half an hour a time - usually it's a smile and he's out of it - at the moment it's upset moaning and a bit of crying.
I've tried to read as many other relevant notices as possible so to answer any possible queries, nothings changed in his day to day routine, diet, he may be cutting teeth but this hasn't bothered him to a great extent before, and his room is warm and unaltered.
We're due to go skiing (yipee I don't think, but dh is desperate to get back on the slopes...) in 4 weeks and ds is going on holiday to granma and granpa's and I'm concerned about how he'll be if he's still having these nighttime dramas without his mama around to comfort him.
thanks.
