Why is my 9MO waking in pain every night

In desperate need of answers. My 9MO has always been a pretty bad sleeper but he’s just getting worse and worse over time. He’s usually up hourly and then between the hours of 2am and 5am he’s often up every 20 minutes. He is clearly in pain at this time, crying and arching his back. The thing is, he’s completely settled and happy during the day. We’ve tried gaviscon in case it’s reflux, have tried infacol and gripe water for gas (he’s very gassy at night so I wonder if this is part of the problem) but nothing has seemed to improve it. He’s weaning but eating very little. He’s EBF but has the occasional bottle of formula and doesn’t react badly to it so I don’t think it’s CMPA. Anyone have anything similar/what did you find it was? We’ve been to and fro to the doctors so many times!

Also 9 months is prime separation anxiety time so that won’t be helping

Our 1 year started doing the same but a bit later, around 12 months, we’ve looked into everything it could be, one pattern I have noticed is her nights are much worse on days where she’s had a lot going on or hasn’t had a good nap, even though she’s a nightmare to get to nap and then won’t go to sleep until 10pm if she has one!!

I’d be cutting day sleep down and later bedtime; he isnt tired enough for a good nights sleep
