Probably had our worst night ever last night cos of this cough. I was awake 4 hours!! 1.30am -5.30amm
Baby girl (13 months) was in and out of sleep for about 3 hours but she just wouldn't settle into a proper sleep ,then was wide awake around 3am then I finally got her to sleep at 4.30am 😪 I eventually got into bed and she started stiring so I didn't go sleep till half 5! Then she woke at 7.30am.
We took her to the gp ( its been 2 weeks of this cough) who said nothing helpful really, other than it's not on her chest and it'll take time to clear and were doing everything we can 😮‍💨

i feel like I can't function had to take today off work

That night she got a low grade fever it came down with calpol but it's been hey first fever so I'm obviously sick with worry. I'm alone tomorrow and feeling very nervous.

Don't know why I'm posting.. for help... for pity... for support 😮‍💨 me and hubby are the only ones in the village.

For the cough put a humidifier in her room, doesn’t solve the problem but helps keep things softer so the cough isn’t as violent and maybe she won’t wake herself up coughing. Fever just do calpol every 6 hours if it’s a bad fever and she is uncomfortable you can alternate between calpol and neurofen every 4 hours. These times aren’t fun but they do pass and sleep returns to normal. Our DS has ear infection at the moment so I get the sleepiness nights!

Oh, @Dancingbiscuit it’s horrible when they’re little and not well. You’re doing everything right, just keep keeping an eye, regular calpol - I liked to keep a note of the dosing for both of us to use to make sure no doubling up! If your instincts say she’s really not tight then go back to GP

the humidifier mentioned might help.

Grab any sleep you can and this will pass 💐

Thanks we have a humidifier.

Sounds completely normal, but it's also normal to worry. GP is right, there's nothing to do, just get lots of fresh air, use calpol and nurofen alternating if she has a fever or pain, cosleep if you need to! It's hard but I'd try not to let her nap excessively to compensate, just do usual nap and earlier bedtime if she needs.

Yeah top it off with nap 2 resisting and overtiredness and trying to walk 😮‍💨
