Hi all,

I read everywhere that at this age they should have 2 to 3 naps and with my first child I rember that somehow it was like that. With my second however is a another complete different story

I cannot really put her in a decent schedule and she never never NEVER looks tired. I am not kidding when I say she can stay awake from 5 pm to 23:45 pm and NOT being fussy but playful. She relaxes when nursing but does not fall asleep. At night she usually sleeps fairly well with 1 or 2 wakings or none at all in her bassinet but during the day....oh gosh!! She would never sleep unless I go outside with stroller (she can sleep like 3 hour straight) or at home after long cuddles (even up to 45 mins) she sleeps for about 40-50 minutes in bassinet.

Anyone in this situation?

More or less her day is wake up at 8:15am: nursing, sometimes asleep again til 9:30/10am then nursing again, solid food (just starting) at 12:00 + nursing, then we try to put her down around 2 pm and she sleeps util 3 pm if at home or even 5 pm if outside strolling. If she wakes at 3pm, I nurse her and then she sleeps again at 5pm for an hour or so. If she wakes up at 5 then I nurse her around that time. Then from there...she can stay awake easily util 12am and nursing for 2 hours straight or more

Any tips? Thanks

She sounds like a a baby who.needs less sleep especially if she isn't upset and awake and happy. DD was like this and was down to one nap a day at six months, she also dropped her nap completely buy 18months. They are all different, but if you want her to go to sleep earlier in the evening then try not to let her have a nap at 5pm.

Our DS dropped down to one nap a day by 10 months, albeit that nap could last for 3 hours or even longer.

She just sounds low sleep needs. If you want an earlier bedtime youll have to start her day earlier; ie dont let her fall back asleep in the morning.
