A small double floor bed that doesn’t cost £400+?!

We need bigger than a single because I can’t see DC giving up the boob any time soon. But, space is at a premium so really a small double is needed instead of a double. I want one with the rails around it. But they are SO expensive!! Where can I find a reasonably priced one?

I don’t really understand the point of a floor bed with rails. Especially a double it should be big enough for baby not to fall off.

We had a mattress on the floor for 12 months or so when we wanted Velcro DD out of our bed but she sleep needed cuddling/feeding to sleep. It was temporary, now she’s in a normal bed, I’m glad we didn’t spend £400.

Sorry, no rails, but she's fallen out before and not woken up...

Just use a mattress or choose a low frame bed, they add £££ for the trendy word floor.

We got slats from IKEA. Nice and cheap and still using them years later. The rails are just a gimmick, not needed and actually not always safe! If you’re worried about falling out just a play mat or rug around the bed is fine. They do fall out at times but honestly they don’t even wake up and that’s whole point with a low floor bed anyways

Our local facebook marketplace is rammed with 4ft beds for up to £25, and lots of them are free. It depends if you mind second hand.

If space/storage is a premium, get a small double ottoman bed, and just put a bed guard on it. My DD has just turned 3 and she’s been in the dmall
double since she was born (we co-slept), and she’s been without the bed guard for around 18 months.

We have looked into this but Ikea don’t do the slats in a small double.

Mattress on the floor, prop it up and flip it for air flow

We got a a IKEA day bed for my dc which I used as a double for both of us and then dc used it as a first bed (changed it to single with a bed guard)

We got it really cheap from eBay and purchased new mattresses for it from ikea.

I see them on marketplace quite a lot too

We have a normal single floor bed, it's fine to share with me and 15 month old. Ours is from Roomix, wasn't cheap but it'll last her years.
