10 month old sleep

My LO has always been a bit of a terrible sleeper.
We have 2 naps a day around 10am and 2pm, first nap is always the shortest. Bed time is at 7pm. When I put her down in her cot to nap she gets her dummy, blanket/sleep bag, her comforter which she likes for the label and white noise. There’s a pretty even chance of her either accepting its nap/bedtime straight away or crying till she falls asleep. Sometimes I have to go in to lie her back down and tuck her back in as she will stand up crying.

what’s more frustrating at the moment though is her waking up prematurely. She does this for naps sometimes she will wake up after 30 minutes when I know she’s still tired, sometimes with tucking her back in she will go back off to sleep. At night this happens every night, down at 7pm, awake at 9pm crying and struggling to go back to sleep needing lots of reassurance (going in patting her bum and saying “shh”, leaving the room and repeat). After maybe 30 minutes or maybe an hour+ she will eventually go back to sleep. Until about 5am where she will wake again but isn’t ready to and again needs help going back down until breakfast time. This seems to be happening every night now.

She is a very light sleeper which does not help. She recently started nursery where her naps have been rubbish. And occasionally stays at grandparents where sleep can also be bad although each try to stick to our routine.

I’ve tried doing Ferber before but she ended up screaming the entire time it did not stop, in fact I think the frequent checks made her worse because then she wants me to stay. The worst nights I will put her in with me when I’m desperate because I need her to sleep for me to sleep!

anyone else had a similar experience and could share some tips that would be great!

Have you thought about co-sleeping safely? There’s lots of information online about how to do so, and I’ve found it an absolute game changer.

It wouldn’t work for us when my husband comes home (works away) as our bed is so small and no room for anything larger, especially now she is getting bigger it’s a bit of a squeeze. We don’t have a guest bed either which would mean he would be stuck on the sofa every night to achieve this!

Get her a floor bed in her room and sleep there with her. She will be needing extra connection since starting nursery.
