Help moving baby to new room

We recently moved house and moved into 2 smaller bedrooms while the main 2 are being renovated. We’re almost done and I need some tips on how to help my 16 month old adjust. The room she’s in now is laid out almost exactly like her room in our old house so we only had a couple of days of shaky starts but she almost never stopped her 11-12 hours a night routine. The room she’s moving in to is maybe 3 times the size and the layout will be entirely different. I’m worried it’ll be scary and she won’t sleep. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I think you're massively overthinking this. If she managed to sleep in a totally new room in a new house without issue she'll be fine in a bigger room in a now familiar new house.

She’ll pick up your anxiety so just keep the routine as usual and if you act like she’ll sleep as normal hopefully she will too.

We recently moved my 18 month old to a new bedroom, he had a few unsettled nights but mainly because his new bedroom is much bigger than his old one and he has all his toys around him. He was waking up wanting to play. This only lasted a few nights and he’s fine now. We kept everything else the same - same bed, same white noise etc.

Thank you. That’s my concern that her room is so much bigger. The old room and current room are almost exactly the same and this will be so different. She won’t have toys in there, just some books so hoping there won’t be too many distractions!!

thanks everyone!!

I think you are definitely worrying too much about this. We moved when our eldest was about that age. Before we moved she was in a room with us. We had all these plans about getting her used to her new room on her own. When we moved the removal men put her cot in the new room and we were too tired to put it in with us. She slept fine and so did we.
