Chair method trying

Chair method has anyone done it and can help.

My LO is 17month and I was just laying on a bed with her in her room till she falls asleep then just transferring her to the cot but I want to get her to sleep independently so I can get a little more of my evenings back.

We do the same routine as before around 6.15 upstairs either bath or just play in her room for a short time. Then PJ'S and stories. We pop down stairs for supper and warm up the milk then back upstairs around 7pm for milk cuddles. Brush her teeth then say "night night time for sleep" I put her in the cot. She is usually quite sleepy but soon as I put her in her cot she is wide awake starts to giggle, stand up, throwing everything out of her cot (blanket, dummies ect) shouting hiya. I just keep saying things like "night night time to sleep" "lie down time to sleep" and shushing. This goes on for around 40 mins then she will lie down and go to sleep. And she has been staying asleep so that's good. But just can't see her going to sleep any sooner. We are 4 nights in now so going to move a little away from the cot tonight.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any tips on this method?

Please don't suggest crying methods as it just isn't for us stresses me out which then has a negative effect on her.
I also I know sleep training isn't for everyone and some people disagree with it your entitled to your opinion but this isnt the place for you to come for me. Please be nice ♥️Chair method has anyone done it and can help.

Start the bedtime routine 30 minutes later. If it's taking 40 minutes she's not tired enough.
