10 month old naps every morning for and hour and afternoon for half hour to an hour

how does this change with time - i mean when do they lose their morning nap??

i dont think mine could survive without his precious morning nap...so am curious how he'd cope if going to nursery etc

i'm thinking the same, my 10 month old can sleep upto 3 hours on his morning nap, but he can sometimes manage with out his afternoon nap but i dont think he could on a morning!!

My DS used to do one mammoth morning nap from 10-12.30 ish. Gradually it started later and later - when he was about 15mths it moved after lunch. he's now 2 and it has moved later again from about 1.20-2.30/3 - I guess when he starts to want to nap later again it might be the time to say 'naps no more' and you last till bed (please no - I love his naps!!!)

Nurseries put them down for a sleep too you know!

There is no set pattern for this, so you will probably get wildly differing answers.

My dd moved to one nap a day between 11 and 12 months. This was just after lunch, and would be anything from 30 mins to 2 hours. This nap then got later and later, and from around age 2 she stopped needing a nap every day. She now naps roughly once or twice a week, as she's not a great night sleeper, for about an hour, or less if we can manage it!

DD merged her two naps, she had been napping at 11 and 3 (ish) but then started napping at 12/1 and not later on. Now (just 2) she rarely naps during the day although she does tend to get grumpy around 4.30/5pm

cool thanks - problem is i assume lio needs nap so put him down - and the when he grumbles how i am to know it is his usual grumbling/quick moan or a "i actually don't need to nap thank you" grumble ???

argh!
