Some context, baby was born 9th percentile, went up to between 25th and 50th around 5 weeks and was weighed at almost 8 weeks and back to 9th percentile. He is formula fed on demand. Through the night he started doing 4-5.5hr stretches about 2 weeks ago. The past 2 nights he's slept from 10pm - 4/5am. He demand feeds and has the minimum recommended ounces each day. We tried feeding more often he just refused and just had the same volume of milk across the 24hrs as when demand fed. He's having CMPA and lip tie investigated.

Now I'm more than happy for him to sleep those longer stretches as I believe if he was hungry he'd wake up in the night, however family members have been at both myself and baby's dad saying we should be waking him through the night for a feed because he hasn't gained as much weight as he should have.

Keen to hear anyone else's experiences and thoughts on this...

Hello DS is 6 months old and is on the 10 percentile curve and has been since he was born. I EBF so also always fed on demand and when I did weighted feeds for a day he was at the higher end of the daily amount. However, he started sleeping through from when he was about 5-6 weeks old. When he has been weighed at his check-ups they have always been happy as he is maintaining his curves. When I asked MW about him going longer stretches she said long as he is on his curve and is happy that it’s fine. She said to keep an eye and make sure his nappy numbers don’t change massively but other than that we can all get some sleep. We are now coming up on 7 months and he won’t go beyond 7 hours without waking up for milk. In all honesty if bubba is hungry bubba will wake up!
