Where has my easy going baby gone!!?

I will preface this by saying I know how lucky I have been so far!!

My 6.5month old has always been a decent sleeper (not so much with his naps but that never bothered me as he was sleeping well at night).

For the last 2 months or so, he has been sleeping through for 10 hours at night with no night feeds.

But in the last week he has started waking every few hours, getting worse each day to the point where he woke every 30-60mins last night. Now, all he needs is his dummy put back in and he's back off to sleep but that still involves me getting out of bed and over to his cot so I am exhausted!

He also seems to be struggling more with being on his own, he used to be able to play independently but now he needs constant attention which is not easy with the sleep deprivation!!

Is this a regression? Is it his teeth? He has cut through both his bottom front teeth. Is this my life now? Payment for 6 months of a dream baby?!

Help!!

Oh god, the dreaded dummy. Mine were like this, soon as i got rid of the dummy they were dream sleepers.

@MsJemimaPuddleDuck mine wouldn't sleep without his dummy. OP it normally happens around 7-8 months they get separation anxiety. Maybe he's just experiencing it earlier than usual

Big growth spurt at that age- how’s weaning going, is he having enough before bed to ensure he’s full? Also, at 6.5 months he should be able to replace his own dummy, he might need some encouragement with this so place it by him or in his hand then guide to his mouth so he learns. However, even once you’ve got that sorted their object permanence is still a bit iffy so they don’t know to look for it when they wake. You need to put loads in the cot, we did 10, and either use the glow in the dark ones or leave on a very dim night light on so whatever position they end up in they’ll always be a dummy in their eyeline. Or if that still doesn’t work just get rid of it altogether. At 6 months he’ll forget quickly.

I was thinking it could be overreliance on the dummy but he was perfectly fine before. He would spit it out or I'd take it out 10mins into his sleep and he wouldn't wake looking for it.

Weaning is going good. He has been having solids for about a month now. Getting 2 meals a day porridge with fruit/yoghurt and then pureed veg around 5.30. Taking 4 8oz bottles, last one around 9.30pm, bed for 10/10.30. I know this might seem late but has worked for us so far.
