Purflo Sleep Tight, Sleepyhead?

Hi,
I have a 3 month old who will not sleep when put down. We have a next to me which worked fine until recently. We think he may be going through a sleep regression. Every time we put him down in his next to me, day or night, he'll wake up immediately. We've resorted to co sleeping, but its not ideal for us long term. We're just doing what we can to get through the nights. But in the day he only sleeps when held. I dont mind doing one contact nap, but holding for all of them is killing my back. I'm getting really down as I cant get anything done, just going to the loo is a struggle.
So, in desperation I'm wondering about a sleeping nest. I've seen the purflo one's are safe for overnight sleep and the sleepyhead for supervised naps only. Can anyone who's used them let me know if they're worth it? This isn't what I wanted, but I'm feeling out of options 😟

We used a sleepyhead in next to me. They still slept like shit to be fair until about 20
Months ish

I had a Purflo for my 2. My son slept in it beautifully. My daughter didn't. They are cheap to buy secondhand and all the bits can be boil washed for hygiene so you won't lose much buying one to try.

The only thing that got my daughter sleeping was a Glow Dreaming machine. That thing is magic and we still use it now (she's 6).

You have my sympathy as I found the 3 month mark really really hard. All naps were contact naps and my back kept freezing up and it just sucked all energy out of me.

@ruralwanderer thank you! Are they okay to use second hand? I assumed it was like a mattress, better to have new?

@BedtimeWorries889 Its so tough 😓 he's had one nap today! One! I was at my wits end. When did things get better for you?

We had the sleep tight baby bed as it made me feel better than it was breathable. Would recommend!

It doesn't have a mattress and the sides are like a pillow so I'd have been happy to have a used one (my mum bought me mine new).

It actually got worse around 4 months. We sleep trained around 5 months. That was a game changer.

Don't wait too long to sleep train, whatever method you choose. Sleep training at 10-12 months is much much harder (teething, separation anxiety, ability to hurt themselves).

None of the nest type things are suitable for unsupervised sleep. Mattresses should be firm and flat with no padded sides

From the lullaby trust:
No. We advise against using pods and nests as sleep spaces because they are soft with raised or cushioned sides. When sleeping, babies shouldn’t lie on or have anything soft around them, particularly their heads. This can cause them to overheat and increases the risk of SIDS. Soft, squishy materials can also cover baby’s mouth and nose if they are pressed against it. While there is a British Safety Standard for cot mattresses, there is no standard for pods or nests as a sleeping place for babies.

@dementedpixie I'm more thinking of daytime naps to save my back. I'd be supervising.
