9 month old fluffy blanket

Remind me when a baby can safely have a fleece blanket at night? Currently waiting on my DC to fall in to a deeper sleep so I can take theirs back out of the crib. They fall asleep instantly when they feel the fluff of it, so I popped it in instead of having to rub their back to resettle them.

A year I believe, could you get a tiny piece of a fluffy blanket and put that in? I know it's not recommended but I give my 10 month old a tiny teddy and he's ok with that

@daff0di1 I will be hunting for a scissors first thing in the morning!! Successfully extracted the blanket, fell back asleep - and they woke up again looking for it. Do we reckon a piece the size of a hand is safe?

I reckon so! But just go for as small as possible

Fleece blankets never for babies as suffication risk and can overheat as a baby cannpot regulate its own temperature. Also bad for children as could have a fever in their sleep and again overheat and up to age 5 could have a fibral seizure. Avoid fleece blankets always.

We used a fleece blanket like a fitted sheet, worked so well
