Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anybody has had something similar to this really need some advice my dd is 18months old and for the past few weeks has been waking in the night multiple times but strangely when i go to comfort her to settle back down cuddle,or find her dummy for her she acts like im the one whos just woke her up almost like shes doing it in her sleep im not just talking about a little sleepy whinge either she will sit up in her cot and throw her dummies out of it she does settle back after a little eye rub and a cry but only to repeat the process a couple of hours later my dh and i are shattered beyond belief atm we have a 4yr old aswell who was a night waker also but there was always a reason for that (wanting milk mostly) and only once a night at that age and it past quickly
So this is a new experience my dh and i are both passing ships workwise so we are knackered
Has anyone had this happen and can give me some advice or will it just pass
Just for context bedtime routine never changes always goes down with a full belly and falls asleep instantly the wakings tend to begin around 11.30pm and will continue till every couple of hours until morning on a good night dd will only wake once but i cant even remember when that was!
Thanks everyone

Night terrors. Not the same as nightmares. Typical age for them to start.

However please get her ears, throat and tonsils checked in case she has an infection and pain that’s waking her up.

Night terrors did cross my mind as my ds had a few when he was around 2 but they woke him up properly to point he would get out of bed and shout mummy and daddy my dd never seems scared and sometimes will refuse to get in our bed for a cuddle just wants back in her cot shes not unwell currently very happy playful girl during the day but i will get her checked
Thankyou
