Safe co sleeping with chicco forever next to me crin

Hi we are looking at getting th chicco forever next to m crib for our 8mo who has outgrown our normal next to me.

has anyone had experience with this?

also sometime being in the next to me is not close enough and our baby likes to be next to me in our bed lol but I am getting worried about how safe this is if she rolls off. If we have th forever next to me cot can I bring her into the bed on the side where the cot is so that if she rolled she would just roll into the next to me? Or does this potentially pose a suffocation risk if ther is a gap between next to me cot and mattress? Sent a pic of what it is meant to look like attached to the bed.

how else can I make co sleeping in our adult bed safe in case of baby falling off without getting rid of bed frame and just using mattress (we have no space to store our bed frame so we don’t really have this option)?

Not an expert, but I suspect at 8 months you don’t need to worry if she rolls. The issue is more about tiny ones who can get wedged and not have the strength to roll away again.

Could you put a floor mattress in her room, and totally baby proof that? Double bones of that is that if she’s sleeping soundly you can creep out for a peaceful night.

Don’t do it, they’re really expensive and don’t actually connect that well to beds despite apparently being designed for that. You can side car pretty much any normal wooden cot, take the side off, and attach to your bed (we used Velcro straps which were strong enough but easy to remove) push the mattress to meet your mattress and stuff the other side of the cot mattress by the bars with something firm like a pool noodle or a firmly rolled towel. Just make sure it’s all level like one surface and just keep big duvets away. Both of mine exclusively slept in the bed but we had a side car cot for roll space/extra space in general. Happy cosleeping!

We had the next to me forever and loved it, it meant we could stay sleeping in our adult bed (like you, nowhere to store the frame and didn’t fancy getting rid of it) until she was 18 months. She would crawl into the actual bed in the early hours, as she got older was doing it more and more, and felt safe that if she rolled off it would just be towards the crib, so wouldn’t fall onto the floor. The period where you worry about suffocation etc is very short, maybe another couple of months for you, and you could just keep the side up until then so they can’t crawl into your bed?

On to add yes you can side car any crib but it’s very complicated to do it, you need to consider how you would raise the height of the crib to make the mattress level with your bed while also being on the lowest setting on the crib. Else the sides would be really low and they could fall out. With the next to me forever that’s all sorted for you. The legs just go up and down and with push of a button and the sides are high so they can’t fall out or climb out

There's a great UK Cosleepers Facebook group which is amazing for this sort of advice.
