Is my baby too cold?

Hi all :)
my 3 month old has started waking more frequently in the night, previously slept through. He only drinks a few ozs of his milk and then will snuggle into me and fall right to sleep, so I’m not sure that’s he’s even waking because he’s hungry. I checked his temp with a tympanic tonight and it said 36.2, his face and neck felt cold and his chest didn’t feel overly warm.
we live in an old house that can be quite drafty. I have the thermostat next to his cot and it says the room is 20C, so does his egg temp thing. I dress him in a long sleeve vest, baby grow and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag, but could he still be cold? When I set him back down tonight I checked his temp and it was 36.9 after being snuggled on me for 20 mins.
im too worried that if I bump the heating up he could overheat

Hmmm how close is he to 4 months because that's around the time where there is a sleep regression due to a lot of developmental leaps. Does he stay up for long or just has milk and sleep? His temperature seems normal. Is he showing any signs of distress? Overall it seems more like a sleep regression but also its biologically normal for babies and even young toddlers to wake in the night and they do switch it up from time to time (their sleep routine).

Temp is fine it had warmed up hadn’t it but just dropped again maybe but a long sleeve 2.5 and 1.5 to put your mind at rest

It's very dangerous for babies to be too hot at night - they can generally cope with being much cooler at night than we can, so at 20c, I wouldn't be adding any extra layers. It's far more likely to be a bit of developmental sleep regression. I have used this chart as a guide for two DC and it's always worked well for us - https://www.babycentre.co.uk/a25024140/what-should-my-baby-wear-at-night-infographic

Edit to add that I would have had my DC in a short sleeved vest, babygro and 1tog at 20c as the chart suggests so I definitely don't think you need to be adding extra to what you have. What does your egg say in the middle of the night temp wise? Ours never drops below 18c at this time of year.

Making sure your baby isn't too hot or too cold at night can be tricky. Our infographic has everything you need to make sure your baby is comfortable.

Probably regression/leap. So lucky at 3 months to be sleeping through,he might settle back into the routine agsin

It’s just because our house is so drafty it doesn’t feel like 20 degrees, me and my husband are always chilly when we wake in the night. His face and neck feel cold and his chest doesn’t feel overly warm which is what made me think he could be cold, also his temp being 36.2 is normal albeit the lower side of normal

I doubt they’re cold, you’re already dressing them in more than is recommended for 20c. Babies extremities (head, hands etc) often do feel colder than an adults would because their bodies prioritise keeping their torso warm. If their chest is warm they’ll be fine, it’s better for them to be cooler to sleep than warmer.

Baby sleep goes up and down for the first couple of years, you’ve had good luck to have them sleeping through so far, but now development starts ramping up and often that includes more sleep ups and downs too.
