Just about to put DS2 into the same bedroom as DS1 - any tips, will it be a nightmare?!?

He wakes up once sometimes twice for feeds but (usually!!) settles back to sleep relatively quickly but gets up for the day normally around 6am. DS1 however is an amazing sleeper - guaranteed 12 hours per night and sometimes have to wake him in the morning.
Can anyone reassure me that I won't have 2 lo's up twice in the night then at 6am for the day!!! Was going to wait until DS2 was reliably sleeping through the night but realistically that could be months away couldn't it!!!

how old are they

I did this at a similar point with ds. Occasionally he has woken dd up at 5am but this happens very rarely. They like sharing a room and on holiday have even shared a bed without disturbing each other.

We do still have an ongoing issue with early starts and keep a travel cot in our room to move him to if he is being too noisy about going back to sleep.

no one can reassure you about anything! Your DCs will adapt in their own way. Be aware that the first few days/weeks canbe challenging as its a new exciting bedtime

how old are your DCs?

We put our youngest ds (21mths) in with our oldest ds (5) last year. My eldest was a good sleeper, although the youngest would still wake occasionally. They soon got used to being in the same room, although we have to get the youngest out of the bedroom as soon as he wakes in the morning, as he won't play quietly, and wakes the eldest up who then refuses to go back to sleep....this is at 5am!
We are having to reasses just now though, as youngest is still in his cot and will need to go into a bed soon, and would be a total nightmare in the same room as my eldest who has a midisleeper. I forsee lots of trips to A&E as the youngest is too adventurous for his own good. We may have to swap my dd in with the eldest for a while until we can trust littlest manky!

I might lurk here, I'm interested too. Putting DS2 in with DS1 soon when baby comes. DS1 is a great sleeper, DS2 is normally but whne teeth come through he is up a couple of times in the night. Having to be up with the baby soon am I making a big mistake and my life harder for myself??? (DS1 is 3.5, DS2 is 12 months)

I will watch this thread for tips.

Dd1 is 3.8 and dd2 is 1.8 and i am scared to put dd2 into dd1's room lol.

I co-sleep with dd2 and she wakes between 1-2 times in the night for a bf. I also don't know how i would get them both to go to sleep at the same time. I reckon they would carry on/get out of bed etc.

Didn't have this problem with the boys as the age gap was bigger.

my 2 are 5 and 3 and although they have seperate bedrooms they sneak into each others beds and cosy in. they dont really wake each other.

DS2 is 2.5 and the baby is just over 5 months old
