Daughter leaks through nappies overnight

Help.. I'm lost and losing my mind.

My daughter (9.5months, nearly 10) sleeps 7:30-7 every night with no feed.

Wakes up every morning with a soaked onesie and tummy and I've tried everything.

I have sized up, tried a different brand which is inbetween size 3 and 4. 3 is tight but 4 is a little lose but fine with a onesie on. I have done an all in one onesie, onesie and pj trousers, pj bottoms and a top. Leaks every time.

She's a front sleeper and doesn't wake up if she's wet. Some nights she doesn't wee at all until she's awake.

Ner size 4 nappies are perfect in the daytime and hold a lot, poop and all!

Waking her and changing her, I've tried she stays awake for 3 hours 🤦🏻‍♀️

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA 😊

Is the nappy full when it leaks? Or is it escaping at the waistband?

For a while I solved leaks by putting a nappy pant /reusable on top

Off topic but you are so blessed to have child who sleeps that many hours.😌
I’m currently here with a 10 month old who wakes every 2 hours and goes down at 10pm😩
Do you think if you changed her before you went to bed she would wake up?
Also you could try those puppy disposable bed mats and put that under her so she doesn’t soak the sheet. It wouldn’t stop vest getting wet though.

Hey op my wee one is also a tummy sleeper and I have the same problem with it escaping at the top and soaking through. I find pull ups are better at moving with him in the night as well as using a wee t-shirt or non poppered vest as the poppered ones seem to restrict the nappy further. I sized up in vests and jammies for the same reason. Its very frustrating and it still happens when he's due to size up in nappies shortly even though they're fine during the day.

You could try a reusable night nappy . Like a nox with the hemp boosters and a wrap over the top.

Or if you still want the disposables just put a reusable wrap over the top.

Is she having a drink right before bedtime? Maybe you could give her it an hour so before and change her nappy again? Or try different brands.

We have to use pampers premium at night or we get the same problem. They’re expensive but we only use them for nighttime and can stock up when they’re on offer.

We also size up from a 2 to 3 for night time and DS wears looser vests and sleepsuits. For us it was that the nappy was getting too full (leaking from the top) rather than the waistband and the bigger size seems to hold more.

He is having 3 meals per day now so naturally a bit less milk which has helped as he doesn’t do so many wet nappies.

Hohofortherobbers · 14/02/2025 08:14

My dd, many yrs ago, was like this. I used the pampers orange pack brand, can't recall the name. I put on on higher at the front and stuck the tabs on slanting downwards to keep it hoiked up.

thehonscupboard · 14/02/2025 08:18

This was solved for us by undoing poppers on vest at bedtime.

PrincessPeache · 14/02/2025 08:20

We had to change DS when we went to bed every night, thankfully he didn’t wake. We tried everything else!

SatinHeart · 14/02/2025 08:23

Nappy pants rather than taped nappies worked well for us at reducing night time leaks. At times we sized up relative to daytime nappies as well.

Also sizing up on the onesie so the poppers aren't pushing on the nappy (though sounds like you've already tried pj bottoms instead OP so that may not help)

ScaryM0nster · 14/02/2025 08:26

I can’t remember what sizes they come in but pampers + sizes are the same size by higher absorbency (rather than like shoes and a half size).

Their baby dry always worked for us.

That said, if she’s not waking then putting a suitable mat under her and rolling with it could be the way to go.

another vote for nappy pants instead of traditional tabbed ones. we switched to nappy pants day and night about 8/9 months and can't believe it took us so long to make the change 😂 we use the aldi ones in daytime and tesco's own at night, DS a size 5 in the day but up a size at night to prevent leaks.

also can recommend no water after a certain time in the evening, although this may not apply as much as younger than my DS (15 months) but we have to stop access to water after dinner otherwise he drinks to much and more likely to leak
