Trouble getting to sleep (twitching)

Hi, I hope someone can suggest how to stop this as it's driving me + my partner nuts!
You know the jolt you get when falling asleep? I get this several times while trying to get to sleep, mainly in my leg. I can feel the tension building in it and if I give it a wiggle it sometimes stops me kicking out. My partner says on a bad night I'll be twitching and kicking out several times. I've read up that it can be anxiety driven so am trying meditation and lavender oil, but would be grateful for any other advice! Thank you...

When DH complained about me doing this several times a night it turned out I had low vitamin D and low B12, both of which can cause anxiety btw, as can low iron & thyroid issues.

Yeah, I get this when I have low iron. I'd go to the GP and get a full blood count and ask for ferritin to be tested too.

Thank you! I'll request a blood test, hopefully it's just low iron which is easily remedied!

Also worth trying magnesium. As a supplement and a cream.

So I've asked for a blood test and they've asked me to make an appointment to see a doctor to discuss. Trying hard not to google what else it might be now!

Thinks like low iron or ferritin can cause restless legs. I also find that a magnesium supplement really helps.
